AppalRaju - Meaningful and sarcastic lyrics

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is bringing out a film making sarcastic remarks on the film-makers of Telugu film industry. He did not leave any technician including directors, lyricists and music directors blaming them that they are responsible for looting producers and making them bankrupt. He chose comedian turned hero Sunil as the protagonist and brought out the film. He got the lyrics penned based on the situation and all the songs are meaningful and make the audiences to rethink about the films and film making. The film was produced by Kirankumar Koneru on the banner of Shreya Productions and it has Swati and Sakshi Gulati in the female leads. Here are the songs and the details.

This appears to be the title song and the hero explains his wish to change the face of the Tollywood with his talent. The lyric explains that the hero wanted to bring out a more interesting films than the Tollywood classics like Mayabazar, Devadasu, Adaviramudu, Sankarabharanam, besides great films from Bollywood like Yadonki Barat and Hollywood film like Titanic. The hero boasts that he would teach acting to Kamal Hasan, change the style of Rajanikanth, new dancing steps to Chiranjeevi, a variety thigh slapping to Balakrishna and bring out a silent film with Dialogue King Mohanbabu. He also claims that he would give a bigger hit than Pokiri to Ileana, than Arundhati to Anushka and give a facelift to Charmme and Priyamani. This is a typical song made on highlighting and boasting by himself that he is a great man.

Artist(s): Geetha Madhuri, Simha
Lyricist: Ram Gopal Varma

The song is seemed to be a part of a film that was being directed by the hero. The song highlights the kind of lyrics the present day directors are using by just highlighting the body of the hero and heroine instead of any other meaningful lyric. Director Ram Gopal Varma himself penned the lyric to suit his taste. It is a sarcastic song on the present day lyricists and the film makers who were insisting the lyricists to pen such lyrics.

Unbelievable   Listen here

Artist(s): Sreeram Chandra, Swathi
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

'Colours' Swati played one of the heroines and is playing the role of an assistant director to the hero, who plans to direct a film. This song depicts Swati congratulating the hero for bagging an offer to direct the film and the hero reportedly telling his assistant on how he would highlight the heroine's beauty. The song had the popular words in film-making like light, camera, action, clap, pack-up and other such words. Possibly, Swati rendered the song for the first time for a film and her cute voice coupled with latest melody king and Indian Idol winner Sreeram Chandra and the song came out in a melodious way.

Comedy King Brahmanandam is playing the role of Srisailam, who used to resort to land mafia and occupying lands in popular localities, jumps into the film industry to finance films. The director appears to be highlighting this goonda cum financier in this song. The speciality of this song is that Brahmanandam himself rendered the song, may be for the first time, he rendered a complete song in this film. The song depicts the entire characterisation of Srisailam. The song is good to listen especially, because the song was rendered by Brahmanandam himself. Kaluva Sai used very common words and colloquial language for the lyric.

Ring Road Kada   Listen here

Artist(s): Hemachandra
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

It is an item song and Kaluva Sai gave excellent lyric for the song. The lyric is good to listen and Koti gave excellent tune for the song. Though the tune appears to be old but Hemachandra's husky voice gave life to the song. The lyric gives a good hint on how the present day directors and producers are trying to cash in on the item numbers. Though the music is not that great the song is quite melodious to listen.

Publicity   Listen here

Artist(s): Sri Krishna
Lyricist: Kaluva Sai

The song makes a sarcastic remark on the kind of publicity of films these days. The lyric explains how the producers loot the pockets of audiences with their gimmicks. How they hype the budget, how the producers announce different gifts to attract the customers, how they change the collection figures and how they try to promote a flop film by holding success tours to empty theatres and attract the audiences. As a whole it is yet another effort to highlight how the film makers try to publicise a flop film as a hit.

This song is based on the philosophy. The hero equates that the entire world into a cinema and all the people are artistes. According to him the God is the writer and director of a film called life. The title of the film is Vidhi and the God is a great director as ordinary directors could bring out the film on some expected lines but it is God who gives lots of twists to the subject and no one could expect what would happen in the next minute.

Artist(s): Sunil Kashyap, Deepthi

This is a tune which was given in a fast beat to the song 'Ringo Road kada'. May be the director might have asked to pen this fast beat for using in promos or during the titles or as a background score for a particular scene.

This remix song was to the Emiti Penchare song heard earlier. However, this remix song will have a fast beat and it is a sarcastic song on the present day lyricists and the film makers who were insisting the lyricists to pen such lyrics which has a fast drum beat.
